Refocusing

I’m trying something new. I’m getting back to something old. I’m doing both.

Writing is something I’ve neglected the last two years. “I haven’t had time,” I whisper to myself. But in my heart I know that isn’t true. In 2020 we were all quarantined at home for 3 months, and even after quarantine ended, I wasn’t as busy as I had been pre-pandemic. In 2021, I definitely had time for writing. And yet, I didn’t write or publish anything on this blog. I think there are a number of reasons for that, I won’t go into all of them. But one specific reason I’ve realized I don’t write, is because I get stuck trying to decide what to write about.

With that in mind, I’ve decided to refocus this blog into cinema/film specific blog. You guys already know I have a love for film. You know I love writing my annual movie guide and sharing the movies I’ve loved throughout the year. It’s because of this that I’ve decided to turn this blog into a film blog. I hope that by choosing to focus this blog on one general topic, I will write more.

I recognize there is a certain risk is making this a film blog. Many of you are friends and family who have followed along over the years to support me. A lot of you maybe wouldn’t identify yourself as a film enthusiast, and you may find some of my posts to be far too in depth. With that said, I hope many of you continue to follow along. And don’t worry about hurting my feelings if you skip over a post or two.

I also hope that I’ll be able to foster a community of fellow film lovers. I dream of a space where I can share what I’m thinking about in regards to a certain film or awards ceremony, and likeminded people can join the conversation.

And that’s really all there is to say at this point. Look out for future posts and let me know if there are any film posts you’d love to read. Maybe movie reviews, award ceremony breakdowns, or general film trivia?
